About Cabinet Mission Plan
The Cabinet Mission Plan of 1946 proposed a united India with a limited central authority, provincial autonomy and three provincial groups, while providing for a Constituent Assembly and an interim government. Its clauses, grouping scheme, representation formula and the conflicting interpretations by the Muslim League and Congress explain why the plan failed.
