PMS guides: the questions candidates ask in sentences
Format, scoring, what each stage requires and how to prepare, written to be read rather than practised.
How do you prepare for a PPSC or FPSC written test?
Commission screening tests are won on the general portion, not the specialist one, because that is where candidates assume they need no preparation. Here is what the paper contains and where the marks actually move.
How do you pass the CSS English Essay and Precis papers?
The two CSS papers that fail most candidates: how the English Essay is marked and structured, the outline method that produces a passing essay in three hours, the precis rules that lose marks when broken, the composition section that is the easiest marks in the examination, and a twelve-week writing programme.
What happens in the CSS psychological assessment and viva voce?
The two stages after the CSS written result: the two-day psychological assessment (written tests and group exercises observed by psychologists) and the viva voce interview worth 300 marks. What each assesses, how they connect, the question areas candidates report, what fails candidates who passed the written papers, and how to prepare.
How does the PMS exam work, and how is it different from CSS?
The Provincial Management Service examination run by the Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Sindh public service commissions: eligibility, the compulsory and optional papers and their marks, the psychological assessment and interview, how allocation works within a province, where PMS differs from CSS, and whether to sit both.
