Sample Verbal Intelligence Test questions with answers

1. Find the next number: 7, 10, 20, 23, 46, 49, ?

  • A. 95
  • B. 96
  • C. 98

  • A. 88
  • B. 90
  • C. 92

Verbal Intelligence Test: common questions

What is a verbal intelligence test?

A timed test of reasoning with words, letters and numbers: completing series, spotting analogies, decoding letter codes, finding the odd one out, working out directions and rankings, and drawing conclusions from short statements. It measures how quickly and accurately you reason, not what you have memorised.

Which tests include a verbal intelligence test?

The ISSB screening on day one, and the initial tests for PMA Long Course and other Army commissions, the PAF, PAF airman entries, the Pakistan Navy and Army soldier recruitment. Each is followed by or paired with a non-verbal (figure) intelligence test.

How do I improve my verbal intelligence score?

Timed practice. The question types repeat, so the gain comes from recognising each type at a glance and knowing its usual rules. Sit a full test, read the explanation for every question you missed, and sit another a few days later.

Is this the real ISSB test?

No. The boards do not publish their papers. These are original questions of the same types, set at the same pace, so the practice transfers.

Can I take it again?

As often as you like. Every attempt draws a fresh set, free and with no account needed.
