Which subjects are in the ECAT paper?
Mathematics (30 MCQs), Physics (30 MCQs), Chemistry (30 MCQs) and English (10 MCQs), 100 in total. Start with Mathematics: a weak chapter there costs more marks than a weak chapter anywhere else on the ECAT paper.
Is ECAT preparation on TestUstad really free?
Yes. All 39,599 ECAT MCQs here, across Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry and the rest of the paper, can be practised at no cost with the answer and explanation shown. Paid ECAT access only adds full-length ECAT mocks on the 100-MCQ pattern and a saved record of your scores.
How many free ECAT MCQs are there?
39,599 across the ECAT syllabus: 1,551 Mathematics MCQs, 13,934 Physics MCQs, 13,720 Chemistry MCQs and 10,394 English MCQs. Each one carries the correct answer and a written explanation, and attempts are unlimited.
How should I prepare for ECAT?
The ECAT syllabus here runs to 52 chapters across 4 subjects. Work through them in weightage order, Mathematics (30), Physics (30) and Chemistry (30) first, and stay on each chapter until you score above 80 percent. ECAT deducts 1 for every wrong answer, so a blind guess costs marks: practise leaving a question blank unless you can rule out at least two options. In the final weeks, sit timed mixed tests at the real pace of about 60 seconds a question.

Not as solved papers yet. Until one is added, the 39,599 ECAT MCQs here cover the same Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry syllabus, and any ECAT paper that is added appears on the ECAT past papers page with every answer explained.
Who conducts the ECAT exam?
Engineering College Admission Test is a Punjab exam conducted by University of Engineering and Technology, Lahore. Dates, eligibility and the fee change every cycle, so confirm them on the University of Engineering and Technology, Lahore advertisement before you apply.
