About me

I run TestUstad from Lahore. I hold an MS in Computer Science from Virtual University of Pakistan and have spent more than twenty years working in the government and private sectors, having sat and cleared NTS and other government job tests myself. I write and check the question bank across the general, computing and engineering subjects on this site. I started TestUstad because the MCQ sites I used gave you a question and a letter and stopped there: no explanation of why that option was right, no way to see which topics you were weak in, and nothing telling you what to do about it. Those three things are what this site is for.

Experience

What I am answerable for

I write and check the general, computing and engineering question banks: English, Urdu, Mathematics, Islamic Studies, General Knowledge, Computer Science, the engineering subjects and the job-test papers. Those pages carry my name at the bottom, and if one of them is wrong it is my mistake.

I do not write the science, social science or medical banks. Biology, Chemistry and Physics are written and checked by Maryam Kashif; current affairs, Pak Studies, Political Science, International Relations and Sociology by Samna Ashraf; and the MBBS and BDS subjects come from contributors working in those fields. Those pages say so rather than putting my name on work I did not do.

Why I started this

The MCQ sites I used gave you a question and a letter, B, and stopped there. No explanation of why B was right, so you learned nothing from getting it wrong. No way to see which topics you kept failing, so you could not tell where the marks were going. And nothing telling you what to do about it once you knew.

Those three gaps are what TestUstad is for: an explanation on every answer, weak-area analysis that shows you which topics are costing you marks, and a plan for what to practise next.
