Fairly easy

Which option shows the given figure turned 90 degrees clockwise?

Correct answer: B. Arrow pointing right at middle left; small semicircle pointing up-right at bottom right; small triangle pointing up-right at middle right

  • A. Arrow pointing down at top centre; small semicircle pointing down-right at bottom left; small triangle pointing down-right at bottom centre
  • B. Arrow pointing right at middle left; small semicircle pointing up-right at bottom right; small triangle pointing up-right at middle right
  • C. Arrow pointing left at middle right; small semicircle pointing down-left at top left; small triangle pointing down-left at middle left
  • D. Arrow pointing left at middle right; small semicircle pointing up-left at bottom left; small triangle pointing up-left at middle left

Explanation

Turning the whole figure through a quarter turn clockwise moves every element round the centre by the same amount and turns each element with it, so the figure keeps its shape; only its orientation changes. Option B is the only one where every element has changed this way. A is the figure turned through a half turn instead. C is the figure turned through a quarter turn anticlockwise instead. D is a mirror image of the turned figure, which no turn can produce.
