Fairly easy

Which option is the water image of the given figure, with the water along the dashed line below it?

Correct answer: D. Half-shaded pentagon, shaded right at middle left; square at bottom left; semicircle pointing down-left at bottom right

  • A. Half-shaded pentagon, shaded right at middle left; square at top left; semicircle pointing up-left at top right
  • B. Half-shaded pentagon, shaded left at middle right; square at top right; semicircle pointing up-right at top left
  • C. Half-shaded pentagon, shaded left at middle right; square at bottom right; semicircle pointing down-right at bottom left
  • D. Half-shaded pentagon, shaded right at middle left; square at bottom left; semicircle pointing down-left at bottom right

Explanation

Water below the figure swaps top and bottom: every element moves to the opposite row, and anything that points or is shaded upward now points or is shaded downward. Left and right stay where they are. Option D is the only one where every element has changed this way. A is the figure itself, unreflected. B is the mirror image (left and right swapped), not the water image. C is the figure turned upside down, which swaps left and right as well.
