Very hard

Which figure is the odd one out?

Correct answer: D. Large circle at centre; small solid triangle pointing up-right at bottom left; small half-shaded semicircle pointing down-left at top right

  • A. Large pentagon at centre; small solid triangle pointing down-right at top left; small half-shaded semicircle pointing down-right at bottom right
  • B. Large square at centre; small solid triangle pointing down-left at top right; small half-shaded semicircle pointing down-left at bottom left
  • C. Large hexagon at centre; small solid triangle pointing up-left at bottom right; small half-shaded semicircle pointing up-left at top left
  • D. Large circle at centre; small solid triangle pointing up-right at bottom left; small half-shaded semicircle pointing down-left at top right

Explanation

A, B and C satisfy every part of the pattern: the corner shapes are opposite, the triangle points to the centre, and the shaded side of the semicircle points away. D has the same arrangement but its semicircle shading faces inward, making D the only exception.
