About WordUstad
WordUstad is a free Wordle-style word game made in Pakistan. Every day there is one hidden five-letter English word, and everyone gets the same one. You have six tries to find it, and the coloured tiles tell you how close each guess was.
What makes it different is what happens after you solve it. You see the word's Urdu meaning, a simple English meaning and an example sentence, so every game teaches one new English word. Students use it to build vocabulary, parents play it with their children, and many people simply enjoy a five-minute puzzle with their morning tea.
It runs in any phone browser with no app and no sign-up. Your streak is saved on your phone, and the share button sends your coloured grid to WhatsApp without giving away the word.

How is WordUstad different from Wordle?
The game works the same way: guess a five-letter word in six tries. WordUstad then shows the word's Urdu meaning and an example sentence, so you learn the word as well as find it. WordUstad is made by TestUstad and is not affiliated with The New York Times or Wordle.
When does the new word come out?
A new word comes out every day at midnight Pakistan time. Everyone gets the same word that day, so you can compare results with family and friends.
What do the colours mean?
Green means the letter is in the word and in the right place. Yellow means the letter is in the word but in a different place. Grey means the letter is not in the word.
Can I play yesterday's word?
Each word is available for its own day only. Come back tomorrow for a new one, and keep your streak going.
