How to play
- Every guess is a true 8-character equation, like 12+35=47 or 9*8-6=66.
- Use digits and + - * /. Multiply and divide come before add and subtract. The answer after = is a number.
- Green: right character, right place. Yellow: in the sum, wrong place. Grey: not in it.
About MathUstad
MathUstad is a free daily maths puzzle in the style of a word game, but with numbers. The hidden answer is a true eight-character sum such as 12+35=47, and you have six tries to find it. Every guess must itself be a correct sum, so each try is a little piece of mental maths.
The tiles turn green, yellow or grey to show which digits and signs are right, so you narrow it down step by step. It is quick practice in addition, subtraction, multiplication and division, and the order of operations, which makes it good for school children as well as adults who like a brain teaser.
There is one new sum every day for everyone in Pakistan, free and with no sign-up. Share your coloured grid with friends and see who solved it in fewer tries.
